Overview
The organisation connects alumni of FGC Okigwe under the banner of faith and shared purpose: “Rooted in Faith, United in Purpose”.
Problem
The client lacked a modern, engaging online presence that reflected their community‑and‑faith‑based identity, facilitated event listings, alumni directories, and resource sharing. Their previous solution was out‑dated, didn’t support year/chapter filtering of alumni, and wasn’t aligned with mobile usage.
Solution

I delivered a full redesign and development of their website (thecyf.org) that:
- Built a structured “Explore by Year & Chapter” alumni directory with filtering for admission year and state chapter.
- Created an events/posts section for upcoming fellowships, resources, and outreach projects.
- Ensured responsive design with a mobile‑first approach and refined typography/branding in vanilla CSS (per your preference) and React icon integrations (Lucide) where needed.
- Integrated admin controls (via WordPress + ACF) so moderators can update content easily without developer intervention.
Technical / Key Achievements

- Custom post types in WordPress: Alumni, Events, Resources.
- Elegant CSS styling in line with the brand’s colour palette, avoiding heavy frameworks.
- Improved site performance (fast load times), SEO‑friendly structure (semantic HTML5).
- Delivered hand‑off documentation so the alumni team can add new members, chapters and events themselves.
